Long has it been since I have updated this blasted blog and I can tell you it is quite difficult to promote active group involvement when most users of the internet prefer to quietly lurk in their solitude and the safety of their profile page.

I cannot make this group interesting without group involvement, and so I have basically given up on that. I don't exactly plan to do anything interesting because one, it takes time and effort, and two, because I have a social life and an education.

Should you want anything, though I doubt I shall receive any response, to be improved then I will happily oblige. If the majority of users want a competition, then I will consider, but without any response I will not put in any effort to keep the group updated. All I do is accept/decline art.

I hope you all understand. Live long and prosperous lives, and long live the cabaret!

You're not here because you're not logged in

You have stumbled across ThePunkCabaret! What do you do? You press join group and then your world opens and everything improves dramatically, disregarding whether or not you already have a nice life or not.

What is ThePunkCabaret?

Here art and literature can be submitted that has been inspired by cabaret, burlesque, Gothic, Vaudeville, brechtian, Victorian era or steampunk. Not only is it also a good place to become inspired yourself, but you will probably gain more watchers, comments and favourites, which we all love.

The Themes

:bulletred: Cabaret, burlesque and brechtian are generally the same, revolving around theatre and scantily clad women in fishnet stockings and corsets. There's a whole bunch of stuff on dA with these type of things. Just search them up and you're bound to get results!
:bulletred: We all should know what Gothic is. And we're talking about the dark, quirky illustrations, like the Gothic artist Tim Burton to the perilous stories of Spiderwick. Gothic does not mean submit depressing scene kids moping about their lives.
:bulletred: The Victorian era is one of the most important times in history, being one of the most influential eras for Gothic and Steampunk genres. The Victorian dresses had a class of their own and no one can resist those men in their smart suits, with those dashing top hats.
:bulletred: Steampunk is Victorian era science fiction. Steampunk characters usually have a colour scheme of autumn colours, browns, creams and 'steam' sorts. Most men and even women wear hats with brass goggles. Leather is popular in Steampunk fashion. Lots of Steampunk revolve around clocks, robotic creatures and air balloons.
:bulletred: Vaudeville is a theatre movement, usually related to freak shows and dime museums, with the women wearing corsets and the men in suits. Vaudevillians have talents in all of the arts, including singing, dancing, acrobats and more. Charlie Chaplin was a Vaudevillian.

Hey guess what, because you guys donated, we're a supergroup! Congratulations, guys. I love you all.

Anyone can join! You will be accepted immediately and can start submitting from there. You can also watch so you can see what's being posted.

:bulletblue: Please submit artwork that belongs to you only.
:bulletblue: There is a limit of five deviations per week, so choose wisely if your gallery is steampunk galore or something of the sort.
:bulletblue: Mature art is accepted, but note that I can't access over eighteen art, but that doesn't mean I'll immediately decline it. Honestly, what is cabaret without mature art?
:bulletblue: Post art into the correct galleries, please.

Don't be afraid to invite your friends, because it makes this group more enjoyable. The more members, the more activity.

If you are a simply a spammer, a trouble maker or are mean to other people submitting, be very wary, because I will rampage through dA on my quest to ban you. Please don't be mean and stay peaceful!

If you would like to affiliate, just ask and I'll be nearly always likely to accept with open arms!

And remember kiddies, have fun!

Horribly crazy people? Definitely eccentric. Terribly mad.
But don't worry, we're lovely people.

This time I think that's not very necessary, but anyway, would you care to have a look at my gallery and tell me if it suits the group before I join?

Oh gosh, I'm sorry I've submitted some stuff into the wrong folders D: (because I havn't submitted drawings into groups for an eternity and the new system is a bit different)
Can you change it somehow? ._.
